A group of people with lived experience of seeking asylum who help shape and design WERS projects to meet the needs of the people we support, to build a better future for those seeking sanctuary on the Tyneside

Refugees and people seeking asylum are at the heart of WERS.

We believe it's important to listen to your opinions, experiences, and involve you in our work. The Advisory Panel is a group that allows refugees and people seeking sactuary to share their input and impact what we do at WERS.

Our goals:

  • We help to create a roadmap for our WERS’ future actions over the next three years

  • We make sure that people with lived experience of the asylum system in the UK are central to everything we do in the future

  • We work closely with our Board of Trustees and staff at WERS to make sure our plans are put into action successfully
