What is an Advisory Panel?
At WERS, we strongly believe in the power of firsthand experience. We understand that the voices, opinions, and experiences of refugees and asylum seekers are incredibly valuable in shaping our work and bringing about significant change. That’s why we are excited to open recruitment for our Advisory Panel!
The Advisory Panel at WERS plays an important role in guiding and impacting our work, both operationally and strategically. Panel members take an active part in monthly meetings and are encouraged to share their valuable perspectives by contributing to planning documents, reviewing resources and publications, and helping us monitor and evaluate our progress towards our goals.
Your Voice Matters
We believe that learning on this journey together is crucial to our mission of supporting and empowering refugees and asylum seekers. By actively engaging individuals who have personally experienced similar journeys, we ensure that our efforts are deeply rooted in understanding their unique needs, challenges, and aspirations. Lived experience brings authenticity, empathy, and a perspective that cannot be replicated through other means.
“By actively involving those who we support, we can increase accountability in our operations and governance, through a more inclusive process. In addition, we can create more relevant programs, initiatives, and policies that address the needs of those we support” - Jason Hussein, Head of Advocacy and Support
Your voice matters, and by sharing your experiences, thoughts, and ideas, you contribute to WERS' ability to provide the best possible services for our community. Together, we can learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of refugees and asylum seekers.
