Newcastle Councillors joined the awareness-raising session

Following the visit from Cllr Karen Kilgour (Leader of Newcastle City Council) to WERS in December, we were delighted to be invited to the Civic Centre to deliver an awareness-raising session to councillors.

It was a great opportunity to share the lived experiences of people seeking asylum and refugees in the North East of England, highlight the barriers they face and discuss the ways in which local government can play a role in creating a more welcoming and supportive environment.
