Refugee Week 2024!

What a whirlwind of a week we had at WERS celebrating Refugee Week 2024!

We sprinkled our usual dose of support, fun activities, and Skillsmatch with a dash of magic by teaming up with awesome partners to host unforgettable events!

Keep reading to dive into our epic celebration.

Monday Funday alert! We threw a sizzling BBQ bash at the WERS garden, drawing a crowd of nearly 100! Grilled goodies, laughter, and some epic dance moves lit up the sunny afternoon. When the rain crashed the party, we took shelter under the gazebo, keeping the good times rolling!

Tuesday called for some green-fingered fun at Dance City, where we teamed up with our friends from Scotswood Garden to plant flowers. Post-gardening feast courtesy of The Seven Bridges Café - feeding a hungry crowd of 40!

Wednesday brought us back to The Seven Bridges Café for more delicious bites and a recipe swap.

Thursday meant a family dance-off at Dance City, followed by - you guessed it - more scrumptious treats!

Thursday night was a blast at The Seven Bridges Café! We partied at their grand opening bash with tunes from Kanvee and Bushee to keep us all entertained. Head chef Ross whipped up some lip-smacking delights that left us craving more. Swing by for a tasty treat or a delicious lunch!

And to wrap up the week with a bang, Skimstone Arts dazzled us with a spectacular workshop and performance at Dance City on Friday.

A huge shoutout to all the amazing people who put these events together, volunteered their time, and joined in the festivities - you are the best!
