Introducing Alice Mason as our new Chair of the Board of Trustees

After two decades of remarkable service, Tessa Sayers, the former Chair has recently stepped down, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and compassion. As we gear up to acknowledge our 25th anniversary and embark on exciting plans for the future, we are happy to announce the appointment of Alice Mason as our new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Alice brings with her a wealth of experience in the field of refugee support, with nearly a decade of work in conflict zones and extensive involvement in refugee services both nationally and internationally. Her background in development and community engagement aligns perfectly with WERS' mission to provide comprehensive support to refugees and people seeking sanctuary in the North East. Alice's collaborative leadership style, coupled with her strategic acumen and commitment to inclusivity, make her an ideal fit to lead WERS into its next chapter.

"I am honoured to take on the role of Chair at West End Refugee Service," says Alice Mason. "I am eager to leverage my experience and skills to contribute to the vibrant communities of the North East and support WERS in its crucial mission of empowering people seeking sanctuary and refugees."
